When you look at my May reading summary, it’s clear where my mind has been lately. Even though I’ve established the three categories, there’s certainly crossover between Resist and Learn. I’ve learned a ton from my recent resistance reads. As usual, I intended to read more books from my eARC (advanced reader’s copy) shelf, but didn’t. Maybe in June!

Here’s how it broke out by book, with links to reviews as well.

Resist: 6
Invisible Man, Got the Whole World Watching
Freedom Is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement
Notes of a Native Son
Night
The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
A Colony in a Nation

Learn: 1
The Secret People: Parish-Pump Witchcraft, Wise-Women and Cunning Ways

Relax: 6
Mongrels
The Dead Key
The Girl on the Train
Going the Distance: The George Thomas Story
Just One Damned Thing After Another
The Name of the Wind

p.s. The picture is from our flight over the Rocky Mountains in early June. I was reading The Name of the Wind on the flight, and immediately thought it looked like a dragon’s back. Don’t you agree?
